I was born in the Vale of Clwyd and am not only proud to have served the constituency since 1997 but I am also proud to call it my home. I believe we live in one of the most beautiful and historic areas of the country and have no hesitation in singing its praises wherever I am.
I was educated in Rhyl and returned from university to teach at Ysgol Mair Primary School where I was deputy headteacher until I was elected as Vale of Clwyd MP in 1997.
I held the post of Vale of Clwyd MP up until the election of 2015 and was then re-elected in 2017.
As MP, it is my duty to represent my constituents and I believe the best way to do this is to meet with and listen to as many constituents as possible and make Parliament as accessible as possible. In addition to regular surgeries across the constituency I have welcomed thousands of visitors, businesses and schools to the House of Commons over the years.
If you live in the Vale of Clwyd constituency I can help or represent you in many ways.
Over the years I have been involved in many different issues and always strive to get the best result for constituents.
If you do have a problem with an organisation or government body I might be able to help. In the first instance you should contact whichever organisation has failed to give you the service you need. If this is unsuccessful I will happily get involved on your behalf. I can also raise queries with ministers or with Welsh Government.
If you are looking to campaign within your community on a particular issue, I may be able to help access information which could help with this or maybe know someone who could.
As your MP I am here to serve you. So please feel free to get in touch.
Chris Ruane MP for Vale of Clwyd
